Although a life long painter, it was not until her children left for college that Mary Lavezzo undertook formal instruction. She then attended U.C Berkeley and earned a B.A in Art Practice and had the honor and good fortune to have Joan Brown as her mentor.
Mary graduated from Cal in 1990 and presently paints daily in her studio in Sausalito. The work ranges from the figurative to the abstract and includes a series of landscapes generated by studies made during visits to Yosemite National Park.
